"If we want to fix the racial and economic disparities in the criminal justice system or at least reduce them, combat teenage gang violence, produce better-educated children and create a generally better society, then the work starts in the primary school, not the prison."

What is Prevention Mentoring?
Prevention mentoring is an approach that we believe can transform communities. We deliver sessions that address themes commonly experienced by young people. By identifying and exploring these themes at an early age we are able to disrupt problem behaviours or patterns.
We call these themes key social indicators, they are often factors at the root of more serious problems or even criminal behaviour.
The individuals who are identified as most at risk are given the support they need. All of our group sessions and one-to-one work are focused on the individual’s well-being and personal development.
Through this approach, we can mitigate circumstances that could have otherwise been destructive. At the heart of our prevention method is the belief that everybody should have equal access to opportunities. Our support helps equip young people with the tools they need to reach their full potential.
